　これまで運営してきました「NPO法人クリスマス島海の塩の会」は、令和７年（2025年）10月31日をもちまして解散しました。

この度、「NPO法人クリスマス島海の塩の会」の解散にともない、令和７年（2025年）10月31日をもちまして解散することとなり、販売を終了することとなりました。
突然ではございますが、販売終了となりましたことをお詫び申し上げます。
長きに渡りご愛顧を頂きましたこと、心より感謝を申し上げます。

Greeting

MASHIO, the Real Salt, is a Japanese high quality salt which has been used for Japanese traditional food also been supported the Japanese food culture that is known as one of the most healthy food in the world.

Today, we don't have much traditional salt manufacture of MASHIO and it is becoming a very rare product, however MASHIO was found in Christmas Island which is Christmas Sea Salt.

The United Nation has invested the small seawater pool to produce the salt by solar energy in Christmas Island in 1985 that to support their industrial development.

It could help to increase the number of local labor in the economical side however it doesn’t last long and the facility has fallen for a while.

Tokugoro Kuribayashi(1928-2013) who was an honorary consul of republic of Kiribati paid attention of this facility and resumed the operation by restoration. He has started to import this salt to Japan since 1995 with the aim of contribute the local economy as well as hoping to deliver this wonderful salt to many people.

Christmas Island is a small island with population of 3,200 in Republic of Kiribati. On this island, the highest sea level is less than 2 meters and therefore rise in sea level is always the fear for islanders that to emigrate as refugees.

Not only Japan but also the other developed countries use the large quantities of fossil energy, however we must kept trying to prevent global warning as well as to reduce a carbon dioxide emission. The ear water in Kiribati contains abundance nutrient components from the deep water from Antarctic Ocean that is rare and significant area.

We established "Nonprofit Organization of Christmas Sea Salt Association" to carry over and to tell to the next generation for this very important environment.
